In India, the Smart Village Movement organization has been granted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) identification number by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. This facilitates funding and support from over 20,800 companies mandated to contribute a certain percentage to nonprofit socio-economic development initiatives. As per the Notification issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on April 1, 2021, CSR Funding will be released only to those Implementing NGOs approved by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs by filing Form CSR-1. This initiative enhances transparency, accountability, and efficient tracking of CSR activities, promoting more effective corporate contributions to social causes.
With Smart Village Movement now authorized a CSR-ID, we are an approved recipient for a portion of the INR 26,000 Crs. spent on CSR in India in 2021-22. As Board Members, you can now express our qualification to receive CSR to companies and business leaders in your network with confidence that we have all the required legal documents and registration numbers.

WOIC 2023 in Bilbao, Spain – Bringing Together Stakeholders for Joint Value Creation

Both our pilot submissions from SVM have been nominated for Best Practice at the WOIC held on 9-10 November:

1. Education: Salesforce Trailblazer Community Learning Centers, now CMYC: Scaling multi-stakeholder open-learning centers as complementary education models in Meghalaya, India

2. Healthcare: Apollo Telemedicine, TechEagle Drone Delivery, and Gramin Rural Polyclinics Pilots: Improving access to primary healthcare for the rural communities in Meghalaya through a multipronged approach.

Launched in 2014, the World Open Innovation Conference (WOIC) is where academia, industry, and policymakers meet. WOIC fosters cross-sector collaboration, explores open innovation trends, and showcases groundbreaking research and practices.

Construction work is in full swing at the schools under the SVM and “One School At A Time” (OSAAT) initiative. As we continue our mission to transform government schools, these ongoing construction projects are a significant step forward in enhancing the infrastructure and facilities for students. The dedication and hard work of our team, along with the support of our valued partners, are bringing these vital improvements to life.
