Committed to Building
A Better Tomorrow
Dear Friends,
As COVID-19 numbers continue to decrease here in Meghalaya, Smart Village Movement’s intervention in healthcare, agriculture, and education sees rapid progress. Active projects on the ground like Gramin Healthcare, Salesforce Trailblazer Labs, and the Farmer Development Centers have been well accepted by the villagers and are scaling up activities and their reach to benefit the villagers from 20 of our treatment villages.
In September, Apollo Telehealth started its operations on the ground in 3 locations around Meghalaya bringing villagers access to doctors and specialists from the comfort of their own community.
Another exciting development for our team is the approval of a Positive Population Management (PPM) project that is designed to bring Preventive Healthcare to rural India. Stay tuned to hear more about this in the coming weeks.
We are rapidly expanding our community outreach through events & internships within the organization and have enhanced our digital footprint with a brand new website at smartvillagemovement.org. Do visit us to understand how the SVM model works and learn about projects that address rural challenges.
As always, my team and I thank you for your support of underserved people in India as we strive to bring them access to benefits that we take for granted.
Thank you.
Anil Shah, MD, FACC,
Executive Chairman,
Smart Village Movement.

Apollo Telehealth Begins Operations in Three Locations
|
|
Apollo Hospitals – TeleHealth Services will be offering specialty and super-specialty Teleconsultation services by creating Digital Dispensaries in Meghalaya. With five strategic locations finalized around the state of Meghalaya, the projects have started operations in three locations – Tyrsad (Mawphlang), Mawdngung (Sohiong), and Dadenggre (West Garo Hills) while the other two locations’ civil works are nearing completion.
The fulcrum of the Digital Dispensaries project has been the opportunity to augment existing and constrained infrastructural resources and transforming them with a leap of aspiration. Leveraging the existing ecosystems at Apollo Hospitals, today we embark our journey with advancing technologically enabled services and shrinking the out of pocket expenditures for people at large. Recently launched are the new telemedicine centers that will be scaled across three districts of Meghalaya.

The Salesforce Trailblazer Labs Gain Popularity
|
|
Salesforce Trailblazer Labs in Sohrarim are in full swing, with increasing engagement with the community. These labs provide a diverse variety of tech learning and innovative thinking and garnered more attention and interest of the community and administrators. Children enjoy their learning activities in the form of reading books, computer skills, and hands-on activities. The Curiosity Gym training on 3D Printing and other technologies teaches children how to create 3D models on their own.
The Nook fellows, another part of the lab, also started their activities at the lab with learning and building new components for the lab which will be ready to showcase and execute in the coming days.

PPM Prepares to Start Operations
|
SVM is envisioned to participate in a paradigm shift concerning healthcare in Meghalaya through the principles of Open innovation, co-innovation and collaboration via our Positive Population Management (PPM) Project. Its ongoing projects in the state of Meghalaya across several working verticals have helped curate the relation of people’s health and the various socio-economic and environmental indicators that are currently in place. Building pilot models for a shift from disease management to disease prevention is paramount to the state’s vision. At SVM, leveraging the application of new technologies and digital solutions strengthens the focus on ‘enabling’ components of the State Health Policy 2021 to augment service delivery through AI. They serve as powerful tools to help the community, public institutions, and enterprises to anchor new developmental paths, as seen across good practices around the world. SVM aims to propel the healthcare sector through a holistic approach to enable a continuum of care through multiple healthcare services for the people.
